Par Dividend Announcement: Dividend scale interest rate of 6.0% extended until June 30, 2023
Empire Life is pleased to announce that the dividend scale, including the interest rate of 6.0% for our PAR products is being maintained for the period of June 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023.
Each year, the Board of Directors approves the amount of the dividends to be paid in accordance with the dividend policy. This year, Empire Life’s Board of Directors approved the recommendation of maintaining the dividend scale at current levels.
The dividend scale can vary based on investment return, mortality, lapse rate, expenses, taxes and other factors related to the participating policy block of business. These elements also remain unchanged.
As always, our focus is on delivering long-term performance and stability to our participating policyholders. Our 10-year average investment return of 6.53% (as of March 31, 2022) is an attestation to this persistent investment philosophy and the strength of our investment management team who manages Empire’s participating account.
- The dividend scale interest rate remains unchanged at 6.0%.
- Other factors used to calculate the dividend scale also remain unchanged.
- The interest rate for dividends left on deposit remains unchanged at 4.0% for all participating whole life policies.
- The variable policy loan rate remains unchanged at 6.75%. This applies to all new and existing policy loans.*
As a reminder, Empire Life is proud to offer two participating life insurance plans, with 4 payment periods, and 5 dividend options.

Additional Deposit Option (ADO) is available on eligible EstateMax or Optimax Wealth participating policies to allow your clients to purchase additional Paid Up insurance on their participating policy; over and above what will be purchased by their annual policy dividends.
